Tim Buren began his professional career in 1983 after graduating from Wilmington College of Ohio with a BA in Business Administration, joining his dad and one staff person in what was known then as Barnard Insurance from West Salem, Ohio.
Tim began to understand firsthand the life as an independent agent. His entrepreneurial spirit fueled their agency to grow, and their vision centered on nurturing and developing the key relationships with customers, staff, and carriers. Over time, he pulled his brother from the banking industry to partner in managing agency operations and changed the name to honor their father, Don, to The Buren Insurance Group Inc.
With continued growth, they added two nephews to help enable the perpetuation of their vision that now employs nearly 50 staff over 5 locations, and supporting more than $27,000,000 in revenue. His focus now is working with agencies all over Ohio and the surrounding states to help them grow their revenue, build their agency, and perpetuate their life’s work.
Tim has also earned a Certified Insurance Counselor designation as well as a certificate from the College of Financial Planning. He currently serves on Wilmington College’s Presidential Advisory Council and is also a Trustee to them. He has served on numerous insurance company advisory boards, as well as on the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce Board.
Tim resides in Westerville, Ohio, with his wife Sharon and 2 daughters, Brooklyn and Olivia.
Ted Rusinoff began in the insurance industry in 1991, supporting financial services firms and insurance agencies all over the United States. He holds both a Finance degree and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Akron.
His career has involved work with organizations in all stages of the business lifecycle, new and mature, young and old, single-line and multi-line. For the past 12 years, he has been working with property and casualty agencies to help build and develop their profitability, customer service and agency value.
At Secured Advantage, he has developed the Agency Enhancement Program Platform to assist members with key areas for strategic growth within the member’s own agency.
Having served on several leadership boards within the industry and around Northeast Ohio, he currently serves as an officer of the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation and chairs the board for Trinity Farm Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Ted is a nationally sought after public speaker and has written on several topics, including building better referrals, cross-selling, estate planning, and other topics in the charitable planning and business development areas.
Ted resides in Stow, Ohio, with his wife Chris and 3 children, Madalyn, Caroline and Zachary.
